- Communion with Jesus Christ above all things -
Today God was very good to me by bringing me and teaching me again He desires and commands my communion and fellowship in the spirit above all spiritual disciplines.
Luke 7:31-32
“And the Lord said, "To what then shall I liken the men of this generation, and what are they like? "They are like children sitting in the marketplace and calling to one another, saying: '
We played the flute for you,
And you did not dance;
We mourned to you,
And you did not weep.”
This was the verse in which God taught me these things. To often than not I find myself too busy with religious activities and not deeply fellowshipping with God my Savoir. After reading the above verse in my daily bible study I was walking and meditating upon its meaning during work. The lord helped me to see its meaning as the following.
They(religious leaders) were childish children, in the since, they were so lost in and busy about trivial play and worldly business that they thus made themselves unable to understand the seriousness and Glory, which God was displaying through His Son Jesus Christ. Beware that this does not happen to you! Pray you have ears to hear that you have a good heart, of which only God is able to make.
But after thinking about this I was about to move on from this to other thoughts when I felt the Spirit telling to not be prideful but honestly see how in my own life I was guilty of the charges in Luke chapter 7. But more than that but to fellowship with God in humble repentance and longing to love Him more in this area in my life.
So by the Lords grace I followed what was placed on my heart and worshipped God in praying and meditation. What I found is that I far to easily in my search to think about God and His Glories move from this too quickly, therefore I sometimes mess out on the very thing God created me for above all things. Which is to be in deep humble communion with Him with my “whole heart”, loving Him and cherishing Him above everything.
Praise be to God I am able to honestly say that it is these moments that I fell most alive, and that Jesus Christ is truly my favorite thought and mediation of my heart. That there is none is heaven or earth beside Him. I find in deep communion with God truly comes peace that passes understanding and pleasure forever more.
What a wonderful thing God has done in commanding all His children and me above all other commandments to simply, “Love” Him, to desire and long for Him with all our being!
Prayer:
"Thank you God for creating me for your good pleasure. Thank you that You have commanded me above all other disciplines for me to love You and Your Son Jesus Christ whom you sent. I praise you God that you have loved a sinner and brought Him, by the blood and sacrifice of your Son, to kiss our feet and fellowship forever with You and your Son, in your house. What grace has been given me? What you start You finish, this is my confidence and boast. Thank you Lord when I stray and need teaching You always bring me back to your arms and teach me your ways and lead me on the path of righteousness. You never fail, for you are always true. Righteous Father, thank you that You have called me to no longer live for myself, but for You, forever. Oh may this be more true ever day. In Jesus Christ Name I pray my Lord, my Savoir and endless Treasure, Amen."
