John 15:12,

This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one's life for his friends.”

I believe in John 15:12, Jesus is saying, "love Like I Do. Lay down your lives for your friends. Look at how much I love you, when I didn’t have to!”

Now why is Jesus denying for us? Is it to save us from physical harm or to Kill our sin problem and also bring us "blameless" before God?

I believe primarily, here in this passage, Jesus is not talking about laying your life down for your friend in front of a bullet. But instead how far are we willing to go and save our friends from Sin and death. This is true LOVE, that is the deepest type of love.

I say this because Jesus did just that. He did die for His friends, and died to save them from, sin and the wrath of God. Which brings them to the place of enjoyment as they behold the Glories of the Father and Glories of Jesus Christ forever.

Jesus did not died to give up His life to save the disciples from a falling rock or from robbers. He died to bring the disciples form spiritual “death” to spiritual “life”.

Therefore this is what I believe we are called to do from John 15.

To do all we can, even die if we must(as many missionaries are doing right now), to help our friends find spiritual “life” through Jesus Christ, and to help them, at all cost, to fight the “good fight of faith”.

To do all we can, even die if we must(as many missionaries are doing right now), to help our friends find spiritual “life” through Jesus Christ, and to help them, at all cost, to fight the “good fight of faith”.

Earlier we read about in the Gospel of Matthew 11:12 that the, “kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force."

Which means this fight against the sin and lust that rage against our souls is serious business and therefore only the “violent take it by force”.

Because if we are “lukewarm” or passive in this battle, we will lose and God “will vomit you out of [His] mouth”(Revelations 3:16)

Therefore at all cost we need to, “Take heed to [ourselves] and to the doctrine. Continue in them, for in doing this you will save both yourself and those who hear you.” (1 Timothy 4:16)

Hebrews 12:4, "You have not yet resisted to bloodshed, striving against sin."

Hebrews 3:13’"but exhort one another daily, while it is called "Today," lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin."

Real friendship love is doing all you can to help people to Trust and enjoy in the Supremacy of Jesus Christ, at all COST. Are you ready to follow your Heavenly Leader’s example? How much are you showing lasting love? Look to Jesus He is the way and the example to follow, at the foot of the cross.

Sincerely yours in Jesus Christ for His Glory and the sanctification of His church.
